About Us

Revive Hope Goods was created after artist Samantha (Sam) Beach took a tour of a trash picking community in Jakarta, Indonesia. She saw the hard life the trash pickers live. After meeting some women within the trash picker’s community, Sam started to think how could she help transform their lives for the better. Sam has a natural gift for creating one of a kind cakes with her Cakes Etc. business, so being creative has never been a problem for her. When the women showed an interest in learning the skills to create jewelry, Sam started a class where waste would be transformed into jewelry and other products. That is how Revive Hope Goods came about. Sam uses her creativity in teaching these women how they can transform Trash into Treasures. Revive Hope Goods creates “one of a kind” products, such as wearable jewelry, key chains, and book thongs. "One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!"

In life, Sam feels everybody deserves a chance to be treated like any other human being regardless of their present circumstances. Sam couldn’t just walk away after seeing such tremendous growth in these women. We hope you love the products and realize your purchases really do change these women’s life for the better!

Made with Recycled Items

The products are designed with items the trash pickers go in search of every day to make a living. Cardboard, Plastic, Glass, and Aluminum Cans are items they search for. In turn those items are bought by brokers and recycled. If the trash picker is lucky, he makes the equivalent of $5 a day for long, dirty hours of work. Revive Hope Goods products are designed using those same items the trash picker goes in search of. Products are designed from plastic bottles, pop tabs, inner tubes from scooters, and old magazines. The possibilities are endless!

Teaching Business & Life Skills

The women in the trash picker’s community have pride and are not begging or asking for a handout. What these women so desperately are in search of is an opportunity. An opportunity where they can better their life! That is why Samantha and her husband Tom chose to become Sponsors of a business with the women who Samantha saw had so much talent. A business which they can call their very own!

Revive Hope Goods is more than teaching skills to the women. Revive Hope Goods is empowering the women and giving them strength. Its goal is to Revive their life by giving them Hope and allowing them to Dream anything is possible. This is something that has been stripped from there life because of the hard road they have endured.

About Our Logo

We have chosen the spiral to represent Revive Hope Goods. The spiral can represent renewal; the slow reveal of things that are hidden; growth and evolution; people coming back to the same point in their life, but with new & better understanding. The symbol of the spiral can push the viewer to be flexible and have trust when things change. Our spiral uses the Javanese character "ja" to represent Indonesian heritage. The character also includes a "wave" that represents that Indonesia is an island nation, an archipelago.

The Women of Revive Hope Goods

The women meet with Samantha once a week learning new design and crafting skills. They use these skills in their own homes to produce the products for Revive Hope Goods. Working from home allows them to still be able to take care of their children. And, the added income allows the women’s families to survive. Revive Hope Goods’ goal is to bring jobs to the women who could not otherwise work.
